Add tasks by typing a sentence
Type the task the way you would say it. GetDone lifts the date, time, repeat, priority, label and project out of the sentence and shows what it understood as you type.
call Alex every monday 3pm !high #work @home That creates the task call Alex, due next Monday at 15:00, repeating weekly, high priority, labelled #work and filed in the project home.
What you can type
| Type | Result |
|---|---|
today tomorrow fri friday | Due date |
3pm at 15:30 9:15am | Due time |
!high !urgent !med !low | Priority |
#errands | Label. It is created if it does not exist yet. |
@home | File it into a project. Suggestions appear as you type. Spaces in names become dashes: “Work Stuff” is @work-stuff. |
every day daily every weekday every week every month every year | Repeat |
every monday | Repeats weekly, first due next Monday |
every 21st the 5th of every month | Repeats monthly on that day |
Good to know
- A project name must match one project. If two projects fit (for example “Work” and “Workout”), GetDone does not guess, adds the task where you are, and tells you.
- A repeat with only a time (“every day 3pm”) starts today, or tomorrow if that time has already passed.
- If you type no date, the due date depends on your setting under Settings, New tasks.
- You can always edit anything afterwards by opening the task.
