Help / Workspaces and sharing
Workspaces and sharing
A workspace holds projects and tasks. You get a personal one when you sign up. Create more to work with other people.
Everyone in a workspace can see and edit every project and task in it. There are no per-project permissions. Keep private work in your personal workspace and share only what you mean to.
Create a shared workspace
Open Settings, choose New workspace, and give it a name. Switch between workspaces from the sidebar (website) or in Settings (iPhone app).
Invite people
- In the workspace, open Settings and find Invite.
- Enter their email and choose a role.
- GetDone creates an invite. It does not send an email. Copy the invite link and send it to them yourself.
- They must sign in with Google using exactly that email address. They then see a Join banner.
If someone does not see the banner, check they signed in with the address you invited, not another Google account.
Roles
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Member | See and edit everything in the workspace. |
| Admin | Everything a member can, plus invite people, change roles, remove members and connect tools such as Jira. |
| Owner | Everything an admin can, plus delete the workspace. The person who creates a workspace is its owner. |
Leave or delete
- Leave: members and admins can leave from Settings. Owners cannot leave; delete the workspace instead.
- Delete: the owner can delete a shared workspace in Settings. You must type its name to confirm. This permanently deletes its tasks, projects, comments, members and connected tools. Your personal workspace cannot be deleted this way.
